knittingqueen: October 2009
http://theknittingqueen.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Happy Birthday from Jane! And do you know what that means? It means I haven't blogged since September! How did THAT happen? Let's see- what have I been doing with my time? Honestly, it has taken me 3 days just to compose this post, and after reading to the end you will undoubtedly say. THIS took her 3 days? October also means BIRTHDAYS around here- Mike and I are now officially 41. In our 40's. Old. Sunday my dear friend Jane gave me. More Pagewood Farms.yum. I mean, I. Honestl...

Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Well, look at me blogging again! That's twice in one week! Don't get too use to it. I finished up these two Who hats that I found here. Pretty darn cute, don't you think? One is for that baby, Blake, and one is for Mara's baby that apparently will never come out. Quick deer update: No sign of the evil one. Don't know if the Irish Spring is actually working, or if the creatures of darkness are haunting another neighborhood this week. We shall see. Works upon booting up. At Bob's ...

Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Today's post is about knitting. Because that is all I have to report to you. I still have no job (although something may be on the horizon, so stay tuned.), so I figured, might as well knit! With buckets of yarn and time on my hands, I should put myself to good use. And about two weeks ago I started the coveted, ever-so-hard-to-find-pattern for the Paton's Must Have Cardigan. I will say this- remember the person I met at Avatar who asked me about my knitting? Today Eric is 7!

knittingqueen: Random Musings from a Fake Pioneer
http://theknittingqueen.blogspot.com/2010/03/random-musings-from-fake-pioneer.html
Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Random Musings from a Fake Pioneer. No, really, this has been a week that has reinforced every stereotype of my life up here in Amish country. Like, for instance, the flock of turkeys I passed on the side of the road driving the kids to school. I don't mean that this flock of turkeys was in a fenced-in pen or yard. That would be typical of island life. No, these turkeys were walking down the street. Turkeys. Yes indeedy, they actually thought I was worth a look. They sent me...

Wednesday, March 25, 2009. The Fun, It Never Seems To End. Hello faithful readers. I'm back. Taking a break from the job search to give you an update on how little else is happening in this house right now (except for Eric, who is doing some serious reorganizing of his Pokemon cards, so at least something important is being accomplished around here). How did the craft show go, you ask? Well, remember the update I gave you last week? You can review that for a current update. Thursday, March 19, 2009.

Thursday, May 28, 2009. Q and A with the Queen. Yep, it's time once again for Q and A with the Queen! How was Ryan's party? I will say, out of all those kids you see there, Eric (the only kid who refused to turn around and be in the picture, the little booger) was the loudest. Eric is the consummate little brother: "guys guys hey guys listen to this guys! Ryan has a nice group of friends, and he adores his cousins, Ellie and Jack, so it was a good group. How was the movie? What's new on the job front?

the "seattle" schienbeins: when's the best time to turn over a new leaf?
http://theseattleschienbeins.blogspot.com/2010/06/whens-best-time-to-turn-over-new-leaf.html
Monday, June 21, 2010. When's the best time to turn over a new leaf? I'm the type of person who likes to attempt to start new routines at milestones, like at New Year's or on a birthday. I don't know. There's something about picking a meaningful day to start something new that has always appealed to me. You know, like starting to write in a journal, cutting out fast food, going to bed at a descent hour, and (gasp) working out. Now, for those of you who know me well, starting. To be someone who can take o...

Sunday, March 29, 2009. Perhaps inspired by V for Vendetta which we watched recently, I decided to make us Eggies in a Basket and bacon (mmm, bacon). Throw in a cup of coffee, a glass of juice and some grapes and it was a pretty delicious way to start the day. I'm not even ashamed to admit that Erich and me and our good friends Josh and Teresa just spent a GOOD 2 hours playing hide and go seek in the dark at their house. Yes, they're the ones with the adorable 4 year old (crap! Can he really be 4 already?

Saturday, June 26, 2010. Visit with the "portland" schienbeins. So one of the most amA.Z.I.N.G things that happened this past year is the birth of our nephew, Rowan James Schienbein. Rowan's parents are Erich's brother, Thomas, and Thomas's wife, Monique. His birth story is pretty amazing. the fact that Rowan is here today alive and well is a testament to Monique's diligent and selfless bedrest for what seemed like. And Rowan was still born at 33 1/2 weeks. Uncle Berto came up to see everyone, too! I'm t...

Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Thats right and I'm soooooooo happy! Posted by erich since my wife is slacking a bit this week. Sunday, April 5, 2009. It's a beautiful, miserable day. When I said I was going to try the homeopathic local honey remedy for my seasonal allergies? I was skeptical, but had high hopes from being spurred on by Farmer Jon, my wholistic, naturpathic co-worker and Joshua, my fellow allergy sufferer. And maybe I need to keep taking the honey to help in the battle against my misery. But...
