Finding order in a disordered world
Voting, shmoting. | Contemplating Chaos
https://contemplatingchaos.wordpress.com/2010/11/03/voting-shmoting
Finding order in a disordered world. About us and this blog. November 3, 2010. In light of the recent elections, I felt it necessary to provide a neo-political ideology that has been running through my head as of late. As I stare at CNN’s ELECTION-CENTER map. I am reminded of a poem by WB Yeats. In the first stanza of the poem. The only reasonable explanation I can conjure is this: Equal parts of red and blue (the Democratic color) make purple. But wait, you say there is a problem with my assertion?

Finding order in a disordered world. About us and this blog. Monstrous atrocity, barely a whisper. November 2, 2010. Our Lady of Salvation Catholic Church, Baghdad Iraq. An entire Iraqi Catholic congregation was taken hostage by Islamic extremists during a mass Sunday night. An excerpt from the news article:. They ordered the priest to call the Vatican to demand the release of Muslim women who they claimed were being held captive by the Coptic church in Egypt. When the priest said he could not do tha...

Finding order in a disordered world. About us and this blog. Aaannnddd… we’re back! September 30, 2011. Last time we took a blogging hiatus, we really had no excuses. We simply didn’t have anything to talk about nothing worth saying, really. And since Matt and I are both the type to only talk when we have something valuable to say, we didn’t say anything at all. Oh, and we’re sometimes (often) lazy. Hence the silence. 1 Kristi started a job at Ave Maria Press. So, have we been busy? Requires a sincere de...

Finding order in a disordered world. About us and this blog. January 12, 2011. It has officially been two months since we last posted. That makes you one dedicated friend or family member and makes us two very pathetic blog authors. We have no excuses, really, except that we have been insanely busy. I can’t count the number of times one of us said to the other, “Dude! You should write a blog post about that! 8221; And guess what? And St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Before this post gets too long, I should ...

Finding order in a disordered world. About us and this blog. October 4, 2011. By: Kristi (as if you needed me to tell you that! I spent most of my first pregnancy hating being pregnant. (Did you see. It screams disdain for my physical state in life! It really wasn’t that I suffered tremendously from physical sickness I was one of the lucky ones who escaped morning sickness and the like. Instead, I simply hated the sheer uncertainty associated with pregnancy. Now that you know you’re reading the rig...

black currant thoughts.: July 2011
http://blackcurrantthoughts.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Photo of the week. Friday, July 29, 2011. So, all said and done, Pinterest has not been a complete waste of time, and I intend to put to use more of the amazing little gems I find on there as well. Here's a tantalizing photo of my batch of Nutella cookies that cured my no-good-very-bad day. As well, if you haven't already, but you have been warned- do keep in mind its addictive nature. Oh, and since I know you want it, here's a link. Thursday, July 14, 2011. Contemplation over evening tea. I am so blesse...

Photo of the week. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Getting back on the horse. It was a great day out with Jeremy doing something that we'd never done together before. He frequently turned around in his saddle to check on me and ask if I was okay, especially after we tried trotting a few times- I began to get the rhythm of it again, but man is it jarring! A little sore now in the rump region but quite happy,. Friday, May 27, 2011. Taken with my phone. Also taken with my phone. I'm still plugging away sifting throu...

Photo of the week. Friday, August 19, 2011. Here's a little peek into what the last few days looked like for me:. Hard at work, editing and honing my argument. And adding in a key element to my analysis that I didn't consider to add until this past Monday. Whoops, haha, at least I got it all in there. I was rewarded for my diligence when Jeremy called me to tell me to look out our window at the beautiful sunset playing on Arthur's Seat and the surrounding crags. Just breath-taking. Thanks for all your en...

Photo of the week. Monday, January 2, 2012. New year. new ideas. A friend of mine just posted about her New Year resolutions, except she called them goals rather than resolutions. I liked that. I like the idea that I have things that I'm striving toward as this new year dawns, not just things that I've resolved. Caitlin's Goals for 2012 [. In no particular order ]. Photo of the week. This is a copy of the post from the day I changed everything again, for those of you who are thinking I'm having some sort of blog identity crisis. Or those who are curious and too lazy to look it up in my written posts. Either way, an explanation:. Anyway, I ended up changing it because it got tiring to have. Have thoughts that could be categorized as brilliant or intelligent (not usually both at once) they are anything but compulsive. I'm here, and I am happy. View my complete profile.

Wednesday, 13 September 2017. Edinburgh and the Titan Arum. I spent a few days in Edinburgh at the beginning of August staying with our youngest son. These are some photographs of the city taken from Calton Hill. On a clear day there are good views of the city and surroundings. Below, looking North over the Firth of Forth. And a view of Arthurs Seat. While I was in Edinburgh, one of the world's biggest flowers was blooming in the Royal Botanic Gardens. Monday, 4 September 2017. Towards the end of summer.

Contemplating Chaos | Finding order in a disordered world
Finding order in a disordered world. About us and this blog. October 10, 2011. I’m not totally oblivious to the Church calendar (not usually, anyway). I did, in fact, realize that the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary was three days ago. I also started drafting a blog post to commemorate this high feast of our faith, but little miss Rosalyn decided that she had alternative plans for my evening. Hence, the delay. :-). Since I can remember, I’ve always been the kind of Catholic who. October 4, 2011.

How did that happen? I have thoughts percolating. I'll share them shortly.
