Liz: in Bolivia

Monday, June 13, 2011. Days 108 - 115. the ugliest rings in the world. My very last week in Bolivia! I was desperate to finish everything and do as much as I possibly could. I had a delightful parting gift from the transition house - chocolate cake! Another volunteer and I got to take huge slices with us when we left. It was wonderful! A little awkward walking around the plaza with bags of cake though. Anyways, in the evening we watched Will and Kate's wedding. Longest aisle in the world! My last full da...

Liz: in Bolivia: March 2011

http://lizinbolivia.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Days 69 to 74. food. As I was reading back on my journal to see what happened during these days, I noticed that every day I had mentioned some delicious food I'd eaten. I ate very well this week. :). Happiness, Vanessa returned on Monday! We'd all been waiting for her advice on style, so the very next day after her return we all went to the salon. :) We went out for lunch to a Peruvian restaurant and I had the most delicious dessert ever! It was like pavlova, yummmmm. Thursday ev...

Liz: in Bolivia: December 2010

http://lizinbolivia.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 4, 2010. Can I start counting down the days yet? Well it's about a month and a week until I am all packed up and on a plane to Bolivia! Preparations are coming along quite smoothly, even my immunizations! I've been studying up on my Spanish. Yesterday, I learned ¡fantástico! And ¡qué lástima! Now I can be excited for people and sympathize with them. :). I am also borrowing a Spanish Bible from a friend, and I am quite excited about that. I would like to leave you with a verse:.

Liz: in Bolivia: Days 97 to 100......... conference time!

http://lizinbolivia.blogspot.com/2011/05/days-97-to-100-conference-time.html

Thursday, May 26, 2011. Days 97 to 100. conference time! This week was the missions conference, and it was held in a hotel in Santa Cruz. My favourite thing about the hotel was the pool, for sure. There was even a waterslide that people got very creative with. :) Oh and there was so much delicious food, I was not really hungry but I ate anyways because it was so good. The hotel had amazing art in it, and this painting was my favourite one. May 26, 2011 at 11:33 AM. I thought you were back!

Friday, January 28, 2011. Days 14 - 16. sleepovers. On Tuesday I went to Talita Cumi (a children's home) and stayed overnight. I was greeted with hugs and children crying out "TIA! Or "Tia, you are chicken! Then one boy said "Tia, you are pretty! That night, I had my first night without air conditioning, and it was really really really really really hot. I think it may have been cooler if I had slept outisde! It kinda looked like this. I went home from TC and repacked because I was heading over to the tr...

Blogging in Bangkok

Friday, May 2, 2014. From Buddhist to Baptized! Many of you reading this blog prayed for, and financially supported, me while I was in Thailand. In those ways, you became an active part of the work the Lord did through me while I was there. Is one of the Thai women God gave me the opportunity to build a friendship with while in Bangkok. Even though I'm back in the States now, we're still able to keep in touch. (3 cheers for the internet! I'm on one of the phones in the crowd! Posted by Liz Swauger. Betty...

In His name the nations will put their hope! Matthew 12:21

Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Was quite an interesting day. This morning we went to a city about 45 minutes from Campinas and gave two school meetings. The students (all highschoolers) responded well. Brandon has been a bit hit with the ladies down here. Considering he is several inches taller than me, the girls don't seem to care that he's 15. That made for some interesting situations at the school this afternoon and evening when the team went back for more meetings. Tomorrow after lunch we will set off on ...

Abroad in Chile

Wednesday, July 14, 2004. Well I'm actually back home now, but I never posted about my last few weeks, so I'll do that now and then talk about reentry. First, San Pedro. It was an absolute blast. I don't know if all deserts are the same, but the Atacama was like nothing I've ever seen before. The people were all really nice, and the town of San Pedro was very cute and had great food. I went with Rachel and Steph and we had a lot of fun together and got a along really well. As the sun was coming up:.

Thursday, September 15, 2011. Waiting for my final day at work (counting down to that - cannot wait. To get out of here! Waiting to hear about the place we put in an application for on the coast - it was soooooo cute and in the PERFECT location at Peregian - walking distance to the shops and literally 500m or less to the beach. Cross your fingers everyone. it was amazing and would be so good to have. would save a lot of stress to have that place. looking for rentals is horrible. WE GOT THE PEREGIAN PLACE!
