Thankfully, I do have some things to distract me. I was able to go back to a test knit that I was working on for Anne Hanson of Knitspot. Here is what it looked like a few weeks ago when I had to put it on hold. They are made from antlers. When the husband came home, I made him do a little photo shoot. Doesn’t he look excited? The pattern is...

Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. Adventures in baking and crafting. Larr; Wool Fumes. I just looked back to see when I had last posted and was surprised to see that it was a month ago! Where does the time go? Wedding anniversary, a piano recital, field day, last days of school, and finally a week long trip to our new state to look for housing. That was really a lot to pack into one month of life! If you are so inclined, you can listen and watch here. While we were...

The sheep, as always, were fun to see, especially the lambs! This Montadale is easily the biggest sheep I have ever seen. I bought a few things, but really not as much as I expected to. The pattern is Pea Trellis by Anne Hanson and was made using Posh Audrey Sock yarn, which was absolutely luscious to knit with. All in all, it was a great day.

Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. Adventures in baking and crafting. It’s All Getting Away. Well, it seems like every time I blink, two weeks passes by. How does this happen? I don’t know, but I hear it happens to everyone, so I am trying not to let it get to me. There’s a lot happening around here and most of it is good, I think. Here are some things I have been working on, in no particular order. Even though I did not finish, I am pretty happy with how much I got...

Friday, 1 May 2015. Owen's Quiet Book Page 10. The final page I made for Owen's quiet book is a mailbox page. He seemed to love this page the most! Felt Print sheet for mailbox page:. The miniature parcels, notepad and pencil are the only things that are not fabric. I found the little. Parcels a long time ago at Michaels on sale and just thought they were so cute and knew I would. Use them at some time. You could make parcels out of felt as well. Everything else is double. I am a homemaker who likes orga...

TWD – Rustic Potato Loaves. TWD – Rustic Potato Loaves. April 2, 2013. Rustic Potato Loaves. Hmm. As much as I love bread (and I do love bread) I have never tried or even heard of rustic potato loaves. This is a recipe I wouldn’t have tried on my own in a million years. But, that’s why I joined the TWD group. To push myself into new, er… adventures. Color me surprised to discover that this is delicious bread. Really delicious. Fast, easy, flexible and delicious. What’s not to like? Fresh out of the oven.

Bringing the world into my home…. BWJ – Bagels. October 16, 2012. October 16, 2012. TWD - Tuesday's with Dorie. Waiting for their turn in the oven. Squishy, slightly mishapen but bagels all the same. I wasn’t really sure about this bagel recipe since I really like Peter Reinharts version but with a few modifications they came out really good. What modifications you say? You can see all the sesame on this bagel? Cross section naked bagel. Bagels on page 87 is being hosted by Heather at Heather’s Bytes.

Fun Fabrication: LEVI'S QUIET BOOK
http://bjsfunfabrication.blogspot.com/2012/01/levis-quiet-book.html
Monday, 16 January 2012. I decided my first DIY share would be a project that is a lot of fun to do but also extremely time consuming, a Quiet Book that I made for my grandson Levi! The front cover is a picture of my grandson which I printed on fabric. There are many options for a house page and pictures of your family in the windows makes it personal! The idea for the running shoe came from: leafytreetopspot.blogspot.com/. I personalized it with a few details. The inspiration for this SPORTS. I love eac...

Fun Fabrication: Unique Christmas tree on a budget
http://bjsfunfabrication.blogspot.com/2014/12/unique-christmas-tree-on-budget.html
Tuesday, 2 December 2014. Unique Christmas tree on a budget. Red, turquoise, yellow and white Christmas tree. This christmas I decided to do something completely different (for me) with my tree! I seem to be in a bit of a yellow phase as I have added it to several rooms as an accent. It is not a traditional Christmas colour so to make it part of my decor took a bit of DIY. Gold balls were purchased at my local thrift store. Most of the red glass balls came from the. Easy cheap diy christmas ornaments.

Welcome Fall | My little yellow cookbook
https://yellowcookbook.wordpress.com/2012/10/01/welcome-fall
My little yellow cookbook. This entry was posted on October 1, 2012, in Breads. Here is what the process was like:. The loaves smelled and looked wonderful when they came out of the oven. We definitely loved this recipe. The loaves taste like pumpkin flavored challah bread. The texture is very soft and delicate. The pumpkin flavor is very prominent. And the dried fruits and nuts give the loaves just the right amount of sweetness it needs. 13 thoughts on “ Welcome Fall. October 1, 2012 at 11:44 pm. My Dai...

Wednesday, 20 May 2015. I love making Baby things and the last few years I have taken to making. Themed baby gifts for my grand- babies. I shared a bit about this owl-themed gift HERE. Another theme idea came from a small bird design I made. I shared how I made the quilt HERE. Even though I am not really a very proficient quilter. Here is a close up of one of the birds on the quilt. The crochet flannel blanket pattern can be found HERE. A bird pillow with two different sides. This is the latest baby gift.

Subscribe to my feed! Crockpot Greek Yogurt, Redux. Several months ago I wrote about making my own Greek yogurt in the crockpot. Since then, I’ve made a batch weekly, and have adapted things a bit to work better for me. I’m reposting with my streamlined method both as a reference for myself (so I can get rid of my ratty notes) and because Mike’s coworkers have demanded to know where he’s getting the yogurt he eats every morning, and he wants to send them here (hi guys! In a 6-quart crockpot. Once it hits...

Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. Adventures in baking and crafting. Last night, I heard from our backyard the first spring peeper peeping. He sounded a little slow and lonely with no one answering him, but he made me feel hopeful. Signs of spring are popping up and this long winter will soon be behind us. Naturally, I started with the last quilt that I organized, way back in October! I didn’t have time to quilt it this week, but I hope to get to it in April ...

The worst of all times is the best of all times for missions. During an economic downturn we are more dependent on God. That is the most fertile soil for creating missionaries. During an economic downturn those who need Christ around the world may be less secure in earthly things and more ready to hear about eternal life. Links to this post.
