Photos of the Vacation – June 7-14, 2014 – ordinary… mostly

God has a plan. God's plan is us. — H. Hollowell. Photos of the Vacation – June 7-14, 2014. I’m trying to get partially caught up on 2014 before 2015 arrives.). In June, the Ordinary Family enjoyed a vacation in Onekama, Michigan, with Ordinary Spouse’s immediate family. We stayed in a house on Portage Lake with a 1000′ walk to Lake Michigan. Not a bad picture from the picture window…. Home address for a week. Must be on the lake. Added bonus: a piano in the house. Fun on the beach (even if it was cold):.

Here we go again… – ordinary… mostly

https://ordinarymostly.wordpress.com/2015/06/28/here-we-go-again

God has a plan. God's plan is us. — H. Hollowell. Here we go again…. Yep here we go again… the royal “we”, in this case, picking up pen and paper (keyboard and screen, if you prefer) and giving the brain some space to process whatever clutter is there. Here we go again… no, actually we never stopped; we’re still at it. The Mennonite Church in the United States is filled with anxiety. Want everyone to be welcome at the table. Some of us. Here we go again… the Ordinary Family is getting ready for ano...

One Mom's Year of Gratitude: Day 353.

http://momsyearofgratitude.blogspot.com/2009/12/day-353.html

Saturday, December 19, 2009. I know I already wrote about Dylan's favorite words, but seriously, it is getting better and better. I am grateful for Dylan's imagination. Not only is she working "frank" and "damage" into everyday conversation (and all characters in pretend play/dollhouse are named.you guessed it), but she has added some more words to her favorites. Dylan's Favorite Words, Dec. 19, 2009. December 19, 2009 at 8:36 PM. Wow Im speechless. What to say? Oh, Dylans got no shoes, got no shoes.).

Spiral Sojourn: July 2012

http://spiralsojourn.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

One woman's ever-expanding journey. Sunday, July 22, 2012. A bit of this and a bit of that. I should write that down" often passes through me but never makes it to my fingertips. My mind and life move too fast, I suppose.or at least that sounds like a good excuse. But as I sit here on the back porch in the darkness of the night with the crickets and cicadas cheering me on, I'll attempt to write my current disjointed thoughts. I've been shopping online way too much. I'm not a shopper, by nature, but a...

Spiral Sojourn: The dreaded adventure

http://spiralsojourn.blogspot.com/2012/01/dreaded-adventure.html

One woman's ever-expanding journey. Monday, January 30, 2012. Well, I did it. The hair is all knotted up and waiting to mature into lovely locs. The process took much longer than anticipated but gratitude and amazement go out to some ever-so patient and giving women in my life! In the words and photos to follow, I hope to take you through the first steps of my journey. It's been quite a trip! Before it all started, this is what my hair looked like. Long (apparently uneven) and straight as an arrow. Instr...

Spiral Sojourn: The dreaded question

http://spiralsojourn.blogspot.com/2012/02/dreaded-question.html

One woman's ever-expanding journey. Friday, February 10, 2012. Yep, a couple weeks ago I knotted up my hair and started the fabulous journey of forming dreadlocks. There have been no regrets, no extreme hardships and no sideways glances.thus far. I do, however, come across the regular question of "why? It doesn't come in that one simple word, though. Rather, I hear. What is your intention? What is the meaning of your dreadlocks? What is the significance? But I digress. I appreciate the more in depth ...

Spiral Sojourn: Simply run

http://spiralsojourn.blogspot.com/2011/11/simply-run.html

One woman's ever-expanding journey. Monday, November 21, 2011. In 2009 I did a sprint triathlon. Nothing miraculous but it took consistent training and learning and growth on my part. Since then I've only done one other race (an 8K crazy snowy trail run) and if I've run 10 times since then, I'd be surprised. No swimming. Casual biking. What's my deal? PS This post is an act of accountability. Please hold me to it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). In case you were wondering, I'm. May 19, 2014.

http://spiralsojourn.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

One woman's ever-expanding journey. Wednesday, December 21, 2011. That sacred December day. 3 days ago." An eyebrow would raise and I would be given a word of encouragement as I was handed my bag of groceries. As time passed, my answer became more shocking. "8 days ago." "9 days ago." I imagine a few people hoped I'd leave their presence lest I drop you that very moment. Thankfully that didn't happen. Thankfully it didn't resort to that. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Updates from Audubon Road. Archive for February, 2010. What Really Matters…. On February 28, 2010 26 Comments. Here we are in the Lenten liturgical season, and it so happens in the last period of my life, and I have been giving a great deal of thought to what really matters to me. ordinary mother – scandalously blessed

O Come All Ye Unfaithful. December 3, 2015. December 5, 2017. We sang the familiar, O Come All Ye Faithful last Sunday. As I stood on the risers singing along with the choir, faith, joy, and triumph filled my heart. But that was Sunday. And I’m not naive enough to think that I will or even can ever be perfectly faithful, joyful, and triumphant. So, I’m… Continue reading O Come All Ye Unfaithful. Click to print (Opens in new window).
