Oasis of Death – Poems by Leaf

https://poemsbyleaf.wordpress.com/2015/04/25/oasis-of-death

Recent Posts: Leaf's Bits and Bytes. O is for Oasis of Death. M is for Moon-Call. Follow Poems by Leaf on WordPress.com. This was written in 2007. Breathing but not living. The heart is beating, yet is dead. Feeling prick but no pain. Nothing left to hurt and maim. Looking up the sky is dark. Ominous clouds hanging low. Pressing down with force so great. Struggling to stand in a fury of wind. Feet are dragging, to take a step. Looking down the puddle of life. Surrounded by sand oh so porous.

Spinning like a ferris wheel. I hop on this merry ride. Though by choice it is not. It rolls upon its static post. As if it’s moving onward forth. Yet all it does is go around. In silly, mindless turns. What am I doing on the seat. Forced in circles, up and down. Helplessly in motion,. I live this standard life. On October 19, 2007.

Artist's Journal – C. Gemme Messier. Etched Emu Eggs →. Anatomy of a Horse Portrait …”Star”. March 27, 2015. Since I haven’t started a new piece yet, I thought I’d share this. When this horse portrait was commissioned, the horse’s owner asked if I could send pictures of my progress to her as I went along. I was happy to oblige. Next came the fun part – coloring! I’ve finished most of the color pencil on the horse, and added the oil pastel. Now for the halter. Color pencil base layer then the oil past...

Footsteps | Poetry by Ken Slaughter

Poetry by Ken Slaughter. I have created this blog to share some of my own poems, and some of my favorite works by the great poets. I write mostly free verse and tanka, and you can find my poems by clicking on the categories to the right. Here is a poem I wrote to my brother…. You came tumbling down. From your upstairs bed. And that wry grin. No wonder I couldn’t wake up . As I turned down the volume. On a Brahms symphony. Today, with strains of Bach in the air –. I pray these sounds. You are commenting u...

Poems by Ken

My thoughts on the state of things seen and unseen. Friday, December 12, 2008. WHAT WILL I BE? WHAT WILL I BE? So many people accomplish great things. Some conquer nations, some are great kings. They have their dreams, they‘ve found a place,. They’ve made a name in this great human race. A dream to fulfill, that’s what it’s about. It’s great to be famous, there is no doubt. What could I be, what work could I do? What would make people take notice, like you? I want to be known for some marvelous deed,.

24 years of words under my pen. March 24, 2016. By Poems by L. I love you in ways that I cannot explain. Your laugh is infectious and your smile is contagious. Your hugs warm me, your arms comfort me, your lips silence my own, your eyes draw me in. I love you to the sea and back, to the moon and beyond the galaxies. I feel lost when you’re not around and complete when you’re near. Three of a Kind. September 1, 2015. By Poems by L. The days are long. The nights are cold. We all have bad days. It doesn’t n...

The Poetry of Luis Lopez. All of my poems are love poems. Wednesday, July 02, 2008. They mumble, so you strain to decipher the sounds. Unaware that these walls could never reveal anything. You don't already know. You listen to him instead, and then ignore everything. Because you prefer not to know. Is it a joke? There is no need to overcompensate, although you do,. Unsure of the reason, donning the transparent veil of your smile. You are a seller that became a buyer, although. You'll exhaust your credit.

The Views Of Life Through Heart And Poetry. Saturday, 3 December 2016. You were the sun rising majestically at dawn,. The skies painted blue when the morning is born. You were the rainbow breaking through after the storms,. The beautiful rose found after climbing up the thorns. You were the diamond I found from a million stones,. The only name that I liked seeing on my fully charged phone. You were my wonder of the world like the millennium dome,. But now I'm stuck here writing poems alone at home. While...

RAAGDEVRAN

POEMS BY MANOJ KAYAL. Saturday, January 7, 2017. Slicing Serendipity

Ghosts of Christmas Past. Ghosts before us revisited. View my complete profile. Saturday, January 24, 2015. Ghosts of Christmas Past. We stood at the edge of midnight. All standstill and not quite caress,. Steepled in truncated desire. In that winter resonance. Just before the church bells rang. Nineteen and twenty-one -. Children, really,. Though we imagined ourselves. In our conversations of. Neitzsche's Will to Power. And the archetypes of Carl Jung. Now you still drink too much,. Do you remember, too,.
