What we’re eating: lots of pizza and wine. I foresee coming here often. Seriously … how have I lived in Haleiwa for almost a year without going to this place? If there’s one thing Kayla and I love more than roommate dinners from McDonald’s or the wine aisle at Long’s, it’s pizza. Jerry’s Pizza. Is a stone’s throw from our house too. In attendance was Eric, Kayla, Lacey, Angela, Angela’s two house guests and myself. The pizza was amazing and they have a pretty good selection of options and toppings.

What I’m eating: marlin carpaccio, truffle fries and garlic pesto shrimp. First time back at Nico’s. Since they expanded into warehouse across the street. The place looks super fancy inside but they keep it real with plastic chairs. This may have been the biggest group in attendance with Eric bringing lots of friends. What we’re eating: a fancy schmancy dinner for four. For the three of us. What is it with restaurants here not all having websites? Tonight’s dinner was at Ginger House Chinese, a very clean (Stef thought it was recently opened) restaurant in the Mililani Shopping Center, between the AT&T store and Just Tacos. Dirty Girls Social Club is a weekly dinner club. Vanessa and I wanted to start hitting up restaurants around the island we hadn’t had a chance to get to yet. She made it to two dinners (I think) before getting kicked off the island and moving to Fort Leonard Wood (Yikes. Been there, done that. No need to go back. Except for maybe El Jimmy’s.). Most of the places we go to are in town, but we mix it up a bit depending on whether or not I want to drive into town or be lazy and eat closer to home.

Little Village Noodle Place. What I’m eating: salt and pepper pork, spring rolls, pot stickers and hot and sour soup. I must not pay attention to menus that much and stick too much with tried and true favorites because since ordering the salt and pepper pork at Little Village Noodle House. I’ve seen other “salt and pepper” dishes at lots of places. Before I ordered it, I don’t think I had seen it before. It was one of the recommended meals on Foursquare or Yelp. What I’m eating: smoked salmon pizza, bruschetta trio and a glass of Conundrum (a white blend). I’m probably the last person to realize there was a Formaggio’s. In town. I have only heard of, seen and been to the one out in Kailua. Turns out they offer catering too under the name Lanikai. This place is hidden in the underbelly of a shopping center off King Street. What I’m eating: Goat curry, jerk chicken bites, jerk shrimp w/ coconut curry sauce and bread pudding #foodcoma. Per the request of Eric, we all slowly but surely found our way to Jawaiian Irie Jerk. In Kaimuki. (Hint: It is hidden in the courtyard-ish area … just pull into the parking lot and meander through the stores until you find it.). The owner came out twice to ask us how we were doing, recommend food options and then asked us how everything was. In attendance were Kayla, Lacey, Eric and myself.
