Falling behind - Shes actual size. 26 January 2015 @ 08:59 pm. I'm keeping up with the photos. Having a portable camera (ie, my phone) in my purse all the time makes it easy to take impromptu shots of things. I am forgetting to post the photos, though. A coworker brought in a bunch of popup books to show around. This was one of them. The leaves had mini leaves had hidden bits. And on Friday I decided I deserved beer. (That Weihenstaphaner is a very nice hefeweissen.).

Winter continues. - Shes actual size. 11 February 2015 @ 10:04 pm. We're well into February, and our winter has been rather mild so far. (As these things go. We've still had bouts of windchills around -50C, and weeks of temperatures hovering around -20C.) It's not the brutal cold of last year, and we've hardly gotten any snow at all. But winter is starting to grate on my nerves. I want to go for walks outside without worrying about frostnip. So, we've been spending lots of time inside, with the cats.

29 January 2015 @ 08:08 pm. On Tuesday I finished a book I'd been wanting to read for a while. Won the Hugo last year, as well as a bunch of other awards. When I saw a copy checked in at the library I snapped it up. Verdict: I liked the book overall. The concept was interesting, and I'm a sucker for any stories with AIs as characters for some reason. However, I had two main quibbles. One was that there was a lot. But overall, I liked it. I will pick up book 2 when I see it. More about our dry time.

Way behind again - Shes actual size. 05 February 2015 @ 07:47 pm. Oh goodness - almost a week already. Where has the time gone? Not too much has happened, but I have continued with the photos. Now you can share the non-excitement. On Friday we went for Korean. I got bi-bim-bap, shown here. Got some spicy chili rice cake stew. They were both good, as usual. On Sunday I made pizza in our new Lagostina cast iron pizza pan. I am still perfecting the technique of using this particular pan.

It goes up to 21x, but at that point I feel like Id be taking photos of individual grains of pollen. Ive had macro lenses before, but not since I changed phones awhile ago, and I tend to go a little mad every time I get a new one.
