Baking with Big Red: Amazing Burgers

http://www.bakingwithbigred.blogspot.com/2015/04/amazing-burgers.html

Baking with Big Red. Monday, April 13, 2015. Adapted from this burger recipe. And Chef Gunyan's cooking class. Chef insists that to make a good burger/sandwich you have to think about each of the components. Tomatoes- slice thin and season with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil. Set aside while making burgers. Ketchup or fry sauce. Quick pickled red onions. 1 clove of garlic (slice or diced). 2 pounds ground beef (we like 90/10 the recipe recommends 80/20). 2 t seasoned salt. Preheat grill over hi...

Baking with Big Red. Monday, December 22, 2014. 1-2 Jonathan, Gala or Jonagold Apples. 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream. 188; to ½ cup Roasted Pecans. Cut Pomegranates in half as you would an orange. Over a large bowl turn pomegranate upside down and whack it with a large metal spoon until all the seeds are out. It can be a little messy, but this method is much faster and simpler then picking out the seeds. Cut the apple into bite sized pieces, no need to peel. Add apple to the pomegranates. Tyler and Rebe: August 2015

http://tylerandrebe.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 18, 2015. I absolutely love watching the sister relationship develop between Bridgette and Penny. They truly love each other and can make each other laugh better than anyone else. The amount of mimicking is hilarious to watch. Penny literally has to do everything Bridgette does! This picture is of Bridgette pretending to be a sea otter with her food on her stomach (she's really interested in non-fiction books right now) and so Penny laid down next to her even though she's busy coloring.

Tyler and Rebe: June 2015

http://tylerandrebe.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 8, 2015. Late night at Disneyland. We've been wanting to see the brand new light up parade at Disneyland before we get blocked out for the summer, so we decided on this week. It was pretty crazy because it starts so late (8:50pm) and all the 60th anniversary Disney celebrations are still new, so it was packed! We rode teacups. Penny was happy at the beginning, but I think she gets dizzy easily. She starts to look a little sick at the end of spinning rides, haha! Poor Penny was mowed down by ...

Monday, February 23, 2015. View of Irvine behind (blocked by Penny in the backpack, haha! Taking a break, eating snacks and enjoying the pretty wildflowers. We saw all sorts of wildflowers, bobcat tracks, big birds and Bridgette found a ladybug she held. It was a great day, despite the whining from Penny the last half- hour and Bridgette getting tired the last half mile and asking to go home. We had a wonderful Valentine's Day this year! I love all my sweet Valentines! Thursday, February 5, 2015. Lots of...

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. This little crazy girl is 14 months old, walking around everywhere and wants to be just like her big sister! When Bridgette was playing dress up, Penelope found the extra princess dress on the couch and brought it to me grunting. I asked if she wanted it on and she started laughing, so I did. What a cute girl, but way too little to already be into princesses! She loves wearing crowns when Bridgette does. This big goose egg was from face planting on the kitchen floor. Sleeping B...

I altered this recipe from an original, and am still working on perfecting it, but it was delicious the first time! I will add updates as I make them. The original recipe says it makes one pie, but I easily made 2 out of it. For crust: (I used a standard pie crust). 12 ounces graham crackers. 8531; cup sugar. 8 Tablespoons melted butter. 189; teaspoon salt. 1-2 Tablespoons water (if necessary). 188; cup sugar.

What's Baking with Bill? Baking with Bill is like having a friend come into your kitchen and show you how to bake! Unlike the TV cooking shows, we don’t break for commercial, pull out a bowl that’s been through two more steps or skip over any steps. We only jump ahead in time when dough needs refrigeration, when the cookie sheet goes into the oven or when an icing or glaze needs to dry. Baking with Bill was filmed in a real k. You know what else is random? I mean, we don’t have ANY butter. Naturally, I google, butter replacements. I can add a little twist on the recipe, I reason.
