K Hambrook Cycling : February 2013

http://kieranhambrook.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Bon Voyage: direction Europe. So its that time of year again, when your on a long haul flight and you have a 4 hour stop over in Hong Kong or where ever it maybe. Have been putting off writing a blog for a little while thinking that Mum and Dad are the only ones that read them. But before leaving a lot of people keep saying 'make sure you keep us up to date' and 'Im always looking on your blog'. Viridian Glass-Nelson Motor Group Cycling: Aaron Fitzgerald and Scott Dayman.

K Hambrook Cycling : ZLM Tour / a windy day at the office.

http://kieranhambrook.blogspot.com/2013/04/zlm-tour-windy-day-at-office.html

Sunday, April 14, 2013. ZLM Tour / a windy day at the office. This race after a promising Flanders promised to be a really good day out for the u23 NZ team. Everyone went in with an exact plan. But as bike racing goes sometimes things don't play out how you imagine them to. I had a quick flashing look down at my computer and saw less than 10mins of racing…. I pulled the pin at the feed zone at the 94km mark, I hate pulling out of races. but when its not your day there is not much you can do. Steve, Chris...

K Hambrook Cycling : May 2013

http://kieranhambrook.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 19, 2013. Just back from a testing week riding around The Netherlands. I came into the New Zealand team with short notice after a number of riders felt sick or injured. I was excited and amping to be racing such a well known and prestigious tour. After waiting around all morning talking smack and drinking weak coffees. The Race started on Monday evening. with a 3,2 km prologue on the coast near Amsterdam! The team consisted of a mix of 'road to Rio u23 trackies' (Cam,Hayden,Hamish,Mike).

K Hambrook Cycling : October 2012

http://kieranhambrook.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Benchmark Series and NZ return. Time is ticking by and it seems like I have been home for a couple of months already. But it has only been just over 3 weeks. To be honest it is always strange coming home and seeing all the familiar faces, it normally takes a week or so to settle back in. I didn't really give myself much of a chance to recover from Jet Lag and the change in weather because I was racing the Nelson round of the Benchmark Homes Elite Cycling series. And Ian Smallma...

K Hambrook Cycling : June...

http://kieranhambrook.blogspot.com/2013/06/june.html

Thursday, June 27, 2013. Its been awhile since the last blog post. Reason being i haven't had any good news to bring in. I still have no good news really. Last Saturday I crashed hard on a typical training ride with the 2 Tom's. We were pushing the pace a little (single file) and an old man's car pulled out of a Give Way on a side road. I was 3rd wheel and couldn't get round like the other 2. I had hit the deck nearly without blinking just before ploughing the car at 50kph. Also looking forward to headin...

Monday, May 26, 2014. New beginnings for 2014….what is NZ winter like? I have completely forgotten about this blog for a bit. But the cycling gig has been thrown on the back burner for a we while….In 2014 i have stepped into life as a Uni student down in the rural settlement of Lincoln. It was a really late decision to come to Uni and put cycling on hold. BUT Its been pretty mint, very easy going so far and a great vibe around campus. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). K Hambrook Cycling : November 2012

http://kieranhambrook.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Tour of Southland 2012. After a long season overseas its always hard to pick up the motivation for 'southland' just for the fact that its such a brutally hard tour with the Xwinds and rain and everything else in between! For myself I was extremely lucky to be riding with a group of mates on Ascot Park Hotel-Kia Motors Southland-NZ bike Mag (long name, i know). 160km finishing in Lumsden, this stage always has the potential to be ripped apart near the end if the wind gets going ...

K Hambrook Cycling : Sportsmanship & my spin on current events.

http://kieranhambrook.blogspot.com/2015/03/sportsmanship-my-spin-on-current-events.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Sportsmanship and my spin on current events. When i think back to the topical issues of St Bedes rowing and the Aussie cricket team and issues relating to sportsmanship and how individuals perceive sportsmanship. I can't help but relate all of this back to my own experiences playing both rugby/cricket and then onto cycling. I would consider myself an extremely competitive person. I am not sure if the 'warrior gene '. So for all those punters out there that are complaining that th...

cyclingblogger | Pondering the past, present, future

Pondering the past, present, future. 03/14/2011 by InnerLight Awakening. We built forts or homes with various sizes and shapes of tumbleweeds. Constructed one tumbleweed at a time, we managed to erect something that resembled a dugout I’d read about in Laura Ingall’s Wilder’s. Little House on the Prairie. Laura lived in a one-room home with her family dug into the earth. Lacking the skills as well as the need to build a multi-room home, one room suited us fine. Freedom from the constraints of authority, ...
