It seems, as with our wars, there is no end in sight. Those crazy winds from earlier in the week broke the better part of my black cherry and yellow pear plants, and today it seems that spider mites are taking care of the rest of those two former belles-of-the-garden-ball. Sungolds are the bomb.

The Austin Chronicle's Best of 2011 came out yesterday, and we are honored to have received an award from the critic's pick: Best tipping policy. Anyway. Our system isn't perfect, but since we are a member-owned business and they already pay us our salaries, why charge them a double tax? I totally agree. Im sad thats the only distinction BSC got though! I was sad when I saw it.

Boon for the belly. Friday, March 6, 2009. Great Grandma Vivienne's Swedish Pancakes. 1 ¼ cups flour. 188; tsp salt. 189; tsp baking powder. 1 packet vanilla sugar. Blend all the ingredients, in a blender or by hand, and pour onto greased pan. Super easy, cook em like regular pancakes, they’re just a thinner and a little more difficult to manage.
