I’ll start with a trail we have only hiked once. However, the fact that it made it into the 2009 family Christmas card should be a glowing endorsement. Miller's Head Trail. Attracts golfers, bikers, and half of New Jersey (relax – I’m from Jersey. We don’t bite – just talk with our hands a lot so stand back.) Tucked in the middle of mega surf shops, all-you-can-eat buffets, and putt-putt pirate coves is a beautiful state park with prime beach-front real estate! Just what the doctor ordered.

The Macgill Times: May Update
http://macgilltimes.blogspot.com/2015/06/may-update.html
Monday, June 1, 2015. One of my favorite things in this world is a little kid in a baseball uniform. There is something so sweet and hopeful and joyful about it. Luckily, Ben plays two games a week and I get to see his cute self in his uniform. However.this uniform is a New York Yankees uniform and that does not make this Baltimore Orioles fan happy. Especially, when my kid starts cheering for them on tv. Thank goodness the season is just about over and he can go back to being an O's fan. They live on 8&...

Wednesday, January 18, 2012. This past Monday, Peirce and Eddie had off for Martin Luther King Day. We decided to take a day trip to Annapolis. We hadn't been there together as a family so thought that would be a fun and close place to head for the day. The state house was a lot of fun. I kept picturing Eddie or Ben in a seat on the Senate floor. A mother can dream. But, I was mesmerized by the gorgeous shiny tile floors. A photographer's dream with the light coming in. This was Ben's (in my handwriting).

Friday, May 16, 2014. Best Mother's Day ever. Well, it is official. I have been a mother for 8 years and this year, I had my best mother's day ever. The Friday before Mother's Day, Ben's class had a Mother's Day tea, complete with iced tea and two cookies. My placement was a sweet handprint flower that Ben made. I tried to hold it together and not weep like a crazy person. There was a little rhyming presentation the kids did and we got to enjoy the classroom for a bit. Remember who he tossed it to. T...

Sunday, June 17, 2012. Today is a special day. 10 years ago today, my sweet husband became a father. I love this shot. Cooper actually took it and if you look closely you can see both of us reflected in Jon's glasses. 10 years ago today, our lives changed forever. It doesn't seem possible. Happy Father's Day to the man I adore and to a wonderful dad. Happy Birthday to the best kid I know. I love you both more than words can say. What Makes Me Happy? Happy Birthday, Cooper! Happy Fathers Day, Jon! Louisa,...

Tuesday, August 25, 2015. A couple weeks ago, we went camping at Rocky Gap State Park. It became my favorite place to go last year. It has this beautiful lake in which to swim. And shady campsites. I just love our tent. We were fortunate.great weather, no bugs and no rain. Just about all you can ask for when camping. We even fixed well rounded meals. Hee hee. And came home happy. You can't see my sweat in my white shirt, but you could at least tell I had to put my hair in a ponytail from the heat. For ou...

Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Our Independence Day started off with watching the Arbutus Firecracker 10K which runs past our street. Then, we headed to the Arbutus parade. Oh, it is so hard to wait for a parade to begin. But, important to hold your ears because. The cannon announces that the parade is set to start. In the parade, you get to wave to local politicians. This guy is truly pointing at Peirce saying his name because they know each other. Hi Tom! Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July celebration!

Thursday, August 28, 2014. With summer now over, I wanted to finally share our beach trip pictures. We rented this house in Virginia Beach with Peirce's brothers and sister. The inside of the home had lots of different room for sitting. This awesome DR table held many hours of puzzle making and playing Clue. I didn't realize what a puzzle fiend Stephanie was. She means business! As far as the big boys, they had their fun too. Here comes the wave. No, it's Gordon! Not to be outdone by the morning sunrises.

Wednesday, January 28, 2015. I got back from Arizona a week ago. I left 75 degrees in Phoenix and arrived to snow in Baltimore. I had to wrap my head around that one. This is Peg and Larry's house there. They bought the part on the right and then a couple years ago, Larry built the part on the left. Sarah sleeps on the pull out sofa in the living room which is currently the window on the right and I sleep on the far left window on a futon in a separate room. One night, Peg and Larry got their friends tog...
The Macgill Times: February 2015

Friday, February 27, 2015. This February, we have had tons of school delays and a few days off from school. You'd think I would have posted more, but alas, it just isn't happening. We also got our chimney swept! Found a honest chimney sweep who didn't upsell us and it was a good experience. Now, we get to have these pretty fires! We didn't have the right glasses, but you catch the drift. Monday, February 2, 2015. It was my little boy's birthday last week. Happy #7 Ben! Ben wanted a Hot Wheels theme.

Our family volunteered for three summers in a remote village in Nepal, where we learned some valuable lessons firsthand. As I sat in the dark, damp room, I heard chattering voices and the shuffle of paper all around me. I looked up to watch as razor blades. In 8th grade, our son had to do a "Service Learning" project. He struggled with what to do, and then he saw a video about Liter of Light. The purpose of this website is to inspire and to encourage families who are. Time in your search.

Tuesday, August 04, 2009. After 5 months in the "little house" on Joy Ride Drive, it was time to join Steve in Utah. The evening before we left, lots of friends came to the Christopher Robbins' pool to say good-bye and wish us well. Here are just a few - Jamie, Addie, Tristan, with Austin and Mike in back. We had the excitement of getting one more good Georgia rainstorm during the party (reminiscent of the tornado warning during our farewell party from Minnesota! Friday, March 06, 2009. Living the Dream
Monday, July 15, 2013. We had a fun week. The big boys were at scout camp so we had to keep busy. We went to a water park with friends, took advantage of 7/11 day with a free slurpee, hiked to Horsetooth Falls, and dressed up like cows for cow appreciation day - which equates to free meals at Chik-fil-a. Don't have pics of everything but here are a few. I like how Lainey is losing her balance just as I took the shot. Not much of a waterfall this time of year. Still the kids loved it. Friday, December 2, 2011. This past week was pretty eventful for us. We had a delicious Thanksgiving feast on Thursday with a couple of my brothers and their families. Then Josh had to leave on another run on the truck, so Loren came and spent the night with me. We had a fun girls night, painting all the girls nails, and then watching Sense and Sensibility. We had a fun weekend with family. Josh and Mitch even found some time to ride horses! Here is a video of Mitch riding Josh's horse, Buddy. They share...
