Living the Dream

Monday, July 15, 2013. We had a fun week. The big boys were at scout camp so we had to keep busy. We went to a water park with friends, took advantage of 7/11 day with a free slurpee, hiked to Horsetooth Falls, and dressed up like cows for cow appreciation day - which equates to free meals at Chik-fil-a. Don't have pics of everything but here are a few. I like how Lainey is losing her balance just as I took the shot. Not much of a waterfall this time of year. Still the kids loved it. Monday, July 8, 2013.

Living the Dream: April 2013

http://www.familyvonlarsen.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 22, 2013. Visit to Grandma D's. About a month ago we drove out to San Diego and visited my mom and my brother. Its always nice to visit San Diego. My brother built a fence up a Cabrillo National Monument when he was earning his Eagle Scout. We also took some classic family pictures up there - so we thought we would revisit and try to recreate some of the pics. I really don't think we got close, but to those of you who remember the photos. You can be the judge. Aunt Laura was with us! They l...

Living the Dream: Cody's 5th Grade Graduation

http://www.familyvonlarsen.blogspot.com/2013/07/codys-5th-grade-graduation.html

Sunday, July 7, 2013. Cody's 5th Grade Graduation. Cody Graduated from 5th Grade this year. On his way from Elementary to Middle School. I tried to get some candids of Cody before he went to school. He insisted that he dress up for the occasion. Luckily he still had one more day of 5th grade shenanigans in him. Cody was honored at graduation for winning the district mile race this year. He was pretty pumped. He also broke the school record in the 800 and the Mile. Then he graduated.moved on, really.

Living the Dream: Kai's Baptism/Cody's Priesthood Ordination

http://www.familyvonlarsen.blogspot.com/2013/07/kais-baptismcodys-priesthood-ordination.html

Sunday, July 7, 2013. Kai's Baptism/Cody's Priesthood Ordination. We were lucky enough to have Kai's baptism and Cody's Priesthood ordination on the same day. This was really special for us. First of all - Brett loves the Jumpsuit. Loves it. Secondly - Love this picture. One of the best days ever. The Downey Boy Cousins. We are missing Noah, Miles, Linus, Josh and Levi - but it sure was fun to hear Gpa D and all the boys sing at the baptism. It really brought the Spirit. They did great! Love of my Life.

Monday, April 25, 2011. Finished Kai's Dress in the nick of time. Thanks to my mom. Its my 4th dress and I still need my mom as a consultant. Steep learning curve. We had a special Easter Bunny this year. We usually ask the Easter Bunny to visit other families and Brett and I do our own thing. Someone else told the Easter Bunny to visit our house this year. Thanks E.B. Kids were surprised! See how surprised Kai is.she doesn't know what to do. Unusual expression for Kai. Loads of fun for us and the kids.

It was fun for me to get to know them better. I always love a beautiful trip! This was a stop at Bloomington Lake near Bear Lake (Utah/Idaho). There was still snow and a million wildflowers.which I love! Our Heavenly Father's world is REALLY amazing! The youth loved hiking around the lake and cliff jumping into the freezing water!

Our family volunteered for three summers in a remote village in Nepal, where we learned some valuable lessons firsthand. As I sat in the dark, damp room, I heard chattering voices and the shuffle of paper all around me. I looked up to watch as razor blades. In 8th grade, our son had to do a "Service Learning" project. He struggled with what to do, and then he saw a video about Liter of Light. The purpose of this website is to inspire and to encourage families who are. Time in your search.

Friday, December 2, 2011. This past week was pretty eventful for us. We had a delicious Thanksgiving feast on Thursday with a couple of my brothers and their families. Then Josh had to leave on another run on the truck, so Loren came and spent the night with me. We had a fun girls night, painting all the girls nails, and then watching Sense and Sensibility. We had a fun weekend with family. Josh and Mitch even found some time to ride horses! Here is a video of Mitch riding Josh's horse, Buddy. They share...
