http://foodicles.blogspot.com/2015/05/izakaya-at-teppen.html
Thursday, May 14, 2015. The fun of staying at The Palace Hotel Tokyo is the constant discovery of Marunouchi's restaurants. Up in the buildings, the ground floors, and countless establishments in the basements - you can't stop eating in this financial hub. In one of the many buildings,! There are so many great eats in Tokyo. I love that these restaurants are understated and low key, while shining with overwhelming plates and tastes. Vegetables to start the meal. Look at these beautiful colors!

Foodicles: Can't stop eating in Tokyo
http://foodicles.blogspot.com/2015/05/cant-stop-eating-in-tokyo.html
Thursday, May 21, 2015. Can't stop eating in Tokyo. Like all trips to Tokyo, the eating is non-stop. Well, it stops when you are so full that you walk it off and then you're ready to eat again. There's so much to eat and not enough time. And just when you think you can stop eating, Haneda airport has such a quality selection of eats before getting on the plane. You have a last chance for tsukemen and ramen; but my favorite is the Japanese curry in the ANA lounge. It's better than a lot of restaur...Subsc...

MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS. TRUE STORIES FROM THE AIR BY A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN ASIA. Friday, July 25, 2008. Alcohol at 30,000 ft: the Japanese lady who got drunk. It is no news that the effects of alcohol double at 30,000 feet. While I have yet to witness fist fights and exhibitionist behavior induced by intoxication (trust me, these happen! I have seen something recently quite of lesser aggression, but no less embarrassment. Two glasses of led. Suspecting that she already had a hangover, I hesitated ...

MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS. TRUE STORIES FROM THE AIR BY A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN ASIA. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Pride or Avarice: the contemporary Chinese struggle. Once again, the Chinese have made international headlines. But this time it isn't for the. A mainlander came to our galley and asked for twenty-six - that's twenty-six! Packs of playing cards. Yes, these are souvenirs that we give upon request for enjoyment inflight, but twenty-six? We barely even carry half a dozen in the galley! As I a...

MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS. TRUE STORIES FROM THE AIR BY A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN ASIA. Monday, March 31, 2008. The lady who steals and then turns herself in. Alright, let's admit it - who here hasn't at one point of another bagged something off an aircraft, say a spoon with logo, a blanket, perhaps even the pillow? Right, let's assume everybody has. What happened to the salad bowl? The entree dish. the green teacup? Fine "Thank you," I'd say with a little grin, meaning really " someone's. And while some...
MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS: How far can the "extra mile" go?

MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS. TRUE STORIES FROM THE AIR BY A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN ASIA. Friday, February 3, 2012. How far can the "extra mile" go? A decently dressed Caucasian woman stands inside the lavatory with the door wide open, gazing blankly at the toilet bowl. At the busiest peak of our meal service, a colleague of mine nominates me to go check up on her. What can it be, and how is it that a guy assists a woman in the loo? Oh no," I immediately react empathetically, "I hope it's not an iPhone!

MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS. TRUE STORIES FROM THE AIR BY A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN ASIA. Thursday, April 24, 2008. Chicken, Pork or Pasta [Part II]. With Chicken declared sold out and three Pork stolen by my partner from behind, I had one last Pork and a whole bunch of Pasta left in my cart. Then. Passengers from the same row decided to have Pork. I'm really sorry sir," I cringed internally for my foolish mistake. "I'm afraid we are already out of Pork or Chicken, would you like to have Pasta instead?
MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS: The Hermès and the Have-nots

MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS. TRUE STORIES FROM THE AIR BY A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN ASIA. Tuesday, August 13, 2013. The Hermès and the Have-nots. If there is one place on earth where economic inequality is most unabashedly in-you-face within the confinements of four walls and under one roof, this place would indubitably be the airplane. They don't travel at all. Sure enough, a city has readily distinguishable neighborhoods separating the rich and the poor, but few are as concretely demarcated and as boldly...

MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS. TRUE STORIES FROM THE AIR BY A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN ASIA. Thursday, July 1, 2010. Baring it all in India: An epic journey into the hands of the unknown. As if caught by surprise, Shaju fetches a thin, long strip of champagne-colored cloth from the dresser. Uh-oh, I wonder. yes, it is a loincloth - an obsolete piece of garment whose name is long forgotten and only retrieved from my memory of college Introduction to Anthropology 101. Thankfully, Shaju does most of the work for...

MEMOIRS OF A FLYING APPARATUS. TRUE STORIES FROM THE AIR BY A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN ASIA. Saturday, May 31, 2008. Thirst: an endemic destitution. We all strive to believe that positive attitude makes one invincible. Nothing can defeat one's morale so long as he keeps his cool and smile. So was the mindset that many of us junior crew carry on board, only to find this massively skewed theory readily debunked on any flight to India. Can you not wait? Would you like Orange Juice, Apple Juice, soft drinks, wine?

foodicity | musings, recipes and great new finds
Musings, recipes and great new finds. I almost want to hide the fact that the theme of this post is “Gluten Free”. Let’s not get into a big debate about gluten hype. You all know I adore the stuff. But my daughter, who I love more than bread, has recently become (thanks to a nasty virus), gluten intolerant. We are all hoping it is temporary, but in the meantime, life, and a delicious one, must go on. The red label one is pretty icky), and Maison Canelle All-Purpose.
