History for Children: England Week - Industrial Revolution

http://historyforchildren.blogspot.com/2011/05/england-week-industrial-revolution.html

Jill O. Miles. A mom with a bad case of latent history interest. View my complete profile. Ages 12 and up. Friday, May 6, 2011. England Week - Industrial Revolution. Like the actual industrial revolution, this book originates in England but then spreads into America. One key to that spreading thing is a man named Slater. You’ll learn how young Slater played the part of a farmer to get out of England with all those machinery designs safely tucked away—in his head. 9674;◊◊◊.

History for Children: England Week - Cathedral

http://historyforchildren.blogspot.com/2011/05/england-week-cathedral.html

Jill O. Miles. A mom with a bad case of latent history interest. View my complete profile. Ages 12 and up. Wednesday, May 4, 2011. England Week - Cathedral. One of the predominate topics from my inspiration for this week’s theme, Sarum: The Novel of England. Was Salisbury Cathedral. This amazing structure was built between 1220 and 1258. In trying to find a related book for children, the closest I could come was Cathedral: The Story of Its Construction. But hey, you’ll get the idea.

History for Children: England Week - The Plague

http://historyforchildren.blogspot.com/2011/05/england-week-plague.html

Jill O. Miles. A mom with a bad case of latent history interest. View my complete profile. Ages 12 and up. Thursday, May 5, 2011. England Week - The Plague. Finding Nell of Branford Hall. Was like finding a little jewel. First and foremost, with no draggy parts nor dull characters, it was a pleasure to read. Then I was impressed with how it sprinkled in just a snippet of the Glorious Revolution, the Royal Society and other English history. But of course, the main course here is the plague. Ages 10 and up.

Monday, January 28, 2013. I've been doing the Women Living Well. Valentine's Day Challenge. I was afraid that I'd see how I need to do better in this area, and that has been the case. Posted by Carrie Hanbury. Friday, January 25, 2013. I love bread. For real. It's fun to make, and kneading bread sometimes keeps me from killing people! Kidding. Mostly.) It smells good and there is nothing quite as good to eat as fresh bread with butter. And that time when you pull the bread out of the oven. Thursday, Janu...

Otherwise Educating: June 2011

http://otherwiseeducating.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 15, 2011. I have been meaning to post a detailed "Year In Review" post but I just can't seem to get around to it. Here's the Reader's Digest version of what I learned this year. Is perfect for us. The upper elementary (we were in year 5) is much more involved than I had anticipated, and some weeks we had difficulty covering everything completely, mostly because I didn't use only Oak Meadow. I had too many other things in our schedule. Sometimes less is more. (See #1). Is a really good cur...

Otherwise Educating: Election Night

http://otherwiseeducating.blogspot.com/2012/11/election-night.html

Tuesday, November 6, 2012. We are doing a little school on this election night. Thing 4 is learning about politics and geography. She is coloring in an electoral map as results come in. She's doing a little math, too, as she keeps a tally of electoral votes for each candidate. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Promote Your Page Too. A very long overdue post. OE Blogs I Love. Today’s best Kindle freebies for your family. A Rosey Outlook' Adventure: Home Educating.

History-Early America

Sunday, April 12, 2009. How Did African Americans Recieve Healthcare? It is brought to all of our attention that African Americans were not given the same opportunities that the white population was given. It is also true that there were some white people that tried very hard to help the black community out. So was it more common for and African American family to be unable to receive healthcare? Or was there a way for them to receive the healthcare within their own black community, and if so where?
