My life as a working creative. My First Processed Space Image. ShapeOko 2 Building Adventures So Far →. August 4, 2013. For the past few months, my CNC Build Club project has been building a ShapeOko CNC mill. From a kit Jeff donated to PS:One to replace the machine hacked into a pick-and-place. The ShapeOko belongs to PS:One and will (hopefully) be a permanent part of the space. After several attempts at finding the right pen or marker, and figuring out how to tape it securely, this was the result:.

My life as a working creative. ShapeOko 2 Building Adventures So Far. September 14, 2014. Donated a ShapeOko 2 CNC Router “The Works” kit. During the first session, we assembled wheels and bearings, and attached them to plates for the x, y,and z axes. We started the next session with parts that looked like this:. Describe the z-axis assembly as the most intricate, and they’re not kidding. It took a lot of fiddly work and some mistakes to get here:. Thank you to everyone who helped so far! Graphic designe...

My life as a working creative. Newer posts →. New Work, Creative Process, and Veggies. October 10, 2011. I just finished up another project for QCDC. It was a set of collateral for the Bronzeville Harvest Fest, which is connected with the Bronzeville Community Market, which was my first brief for them. This time, they sent me an idea for a poster, and I iterated from that, and then took it further. I sent in three comps, and the “further” idea ended up being chosen. Here it is:. Continue reading →. The Inventor's Workshop. Ryan's blog of making awesome things. CNC Beer Part 3 – Fusion 360 and Waterjet Overkill. February 21, 2016 5:12 pm. Go back to Part 2.]. I had a plan for how to blog about this project, but I’m going to step out of order and talk about the latest development since it pertains to the last Fusion 360 Meetup. The control box sits on a separate stand on wheels that I welded. In keeping with the “Beer Church” theme, I suppose this is the “Beer Pulpit”. Read More →. I’ve examine...

The Inventor's Workshop. Ryan's blog of making awesome things. CNC Steampunk Harp The Sector67 Field Trip Part 2. February 1, 2014 2:13 pm. The sound board of the harp had always been the wild card. The Inventor's Workshop. Ryan's blog of making awesome things. CNC Steampunk Harp – Part 1. January 22, 2014 10:44 pm. For the past year, Elizabeth and I have been collaborating on a project using the amazingly cool CNC tools at Pumping Station: One. The goal: to build a harp. Not just any harp, mind you. A steampunk harp! The idea was to start with a kit (the Voyageur harp from Music Makers. 33 strings, cherry) but heavily customize it as follows:. Router.
