Shocking though all this is, it gets much, much worse. A classmate of mine has written a blog. Someone, somewhere, could be watching you. Big Brother has a name in the consumer world. It might not be who you think it is either. Big Brothers name, is Tesco. All hail our dear leader. Your entire purchase history ...

Miniature musings and pocket-sized ponderings about all things consumer. Anthropomorphism, makes me say awww . Anthropomorphism is when human emotions and behaviours are attributed to animals and non-living things such as household objects. A good example of this phenomena is illustrated in this video:. Who else felt bad for the pixar lamp when the ball deflated? I find this adorable! This may be a factor into how we can relate to Disney characters even when they are hand drawn/animated and. Another aspe...

A round of applause for Pampers please. Okay so maybe companies aren’t as obvious as this in trying to gain customers from ethical practices. Which is all well and good, but thinking about stakeholders does come with costs. Are shareholders really going to be happy if their dividends dwindle as a result of a new ‘charitable’ organisation? A particular brand that stands out for me in their CSR practices is Pampers. Their ‘One Pack, One Vaccine’ has been hugely successful. Believability The ‘One Pack, One ...

It’s the thought that counts…. As much as I tried to convince myself that I wouldn’t do a Christmas blog, here I am about to break my promise to myself. I can’t help it. All that I have on my mind these days is Christmas, even with those pesky exams threatening to ruin my festive joy by looming over the entire holiday. WHEN GIFT-GIVING GOES WRONG. Gift-giving has also been at the heart of many ethical concerns in business-to-business (B2B) transactions as they can often be cloud judgement and influence p...

Do you have more money than sense? Would you like crystal encrusted water? Today I came across Bling H20. Bling H20 is a brand of bottled water that is quite clearly on another planet. A typical 1 litre of bottled water will set you back 37, simply by placing Swarovski crystals on the bottle they have been able to create a brand aimed at the super rich (that clearly have more money than sense). It still does not stop the fact that even Grey Goose vodka is less expensive and water is available from a tap!

Adverts that go viral. I’m bloging about this because it made me laugh. And I shared it. Because I think it will make others laugh. I guess that’s the point of viral marketing, It’s not necessary to spend much money to have great brand exposure and you get to be recommended to an adverts content by a friend and not intruded open through an advert placed in the middle of your favourite T.V programme. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. We are a forgetful bunch. Sometimes. I’m on a horse? Viral marketi...

Nike are telling us to just do it. Frosties: “they’re grrreat! But why do companies use these phrases, and how do they work to persuade us as the consumer to invest in their product? Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. The good, the bad and the questionable. The End of Innocence. November 30, 2012. Something terrible has happened. Someone logged on to the computer of life and deleted innocence for an entire generation. I do not however, remember anything about sex. I’M STILL NOT HAPPY. When it comes to children, I fear we have become too liberal. What do I mean? Now with real hooker hair! These are children’s toys, aimed at and sold to girls under the age of 11. I person...
