Follow me (Brian McDowell) as I train for Ironman Lake Placid 2010 and raise money to cure ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). I live and train in Hilton, New York. IMLP happens on July 25th, 2010 and is comprised of a 2.4-mile open-water swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and finishes with a marathon run (26.2 miles). I am competing in honor of Uncle Dave. Help fight ALS and follow my training.

Friday, March 26, 2010. Here are some current odds and ends:. Recovery week is going well and almost over. I worry that I took it too easy but I know if I rest now I can go harder later. My calves are still a bit "twingy" but the. Is definitely helping. I'm going to try some hamstring strengthening exercises using an exercise ball- I guess cycling builds a muscle imbalance because the quads get stronger than the hamstrings. Monday, March 22, 2010.
