Living With Alpha 1
Living With Alpha 1. Getting back to running. Before I was diagnosed, my wife and I ran 5Ks. She started it, really. A bunch of her friends were into running and they convinced her to run a race. I volunteered to be her running buddy while training around the neighborhood. Things went pretty smoothly for our first race. I think our first time was somewhere around the 39 minute mark. It was definitely less than 40 minutes, which was our goal for the first race. It was one thing after another. My foot ...
Living with ALS - Home
Patient and Caregiver Perspectives. It is also the story of my struggles as a caregiver, and how I have come to terms with providing support for my best friend and husband. I am sharing some of the things I have learned to help me deal with the heartache and stress, and the role that faith played. Our prayer is that this site will be a blessing and encouragement to someone walking through this valley of death. This is the story of RL (Patient) and Carol (Caregiver) Davis.

loving beyond ALS | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. May 8, 2011. One of the really crappy things about the ALS diagnosis is that the disease progresses pretty quickly (in some cases) and there are no cures (yet) or medications that can slow it all down for more than a smidge (yet), so you are told to get your affairs in order and if you have something you want to do, do it. Now. Don’t wait. I am expecting some bitter-sweet times ahead as Will gets ready to launch into this next phase. March 9, 2011. Update on the drug trial.

Living with ALS by Tom Swift
Living with ALS by Tom Swift. A Few Words In Closing. This is my last article for the St. James Epistle. I developed pneumonia in early January and I did not recover fully. By the time you read this, I may be dead. I realize that is blunt, but I want to be clear. Here are a few thoughts before I go. Why didn't God heal me? I am not afraid of dying and death. I am not afraid of dying because I am in hospice care. The caring and professional staff will make sure I die in comfort and dignity. I ...I feel sa...

Living with a man | The insanity, humor and rage of living with my man
Living with a man. The insanity, humor and rage of living with my man. The Lazar Pen Debacle. November 30, 2012. MrJ ordered a laser pen from China recently to entertain our kitty cat, after waiting for weeks and weeks it finally came and the cat loved. Some hilarious videos to follow! I’m not sure though if Mr.J or the cat enjoyed it more, either way it kept them entertained, and. The cat took the laser very seriously. So after a few. Aggressive threats to put the pen in various unmentionable cavities.

Living in a town with no stop lights. August 11, 2013. It’s been a while…. Time to revive these dusty, fat, old fingers and get back to typing. Should probably dig out the camera in the junk-drawer abyss and start clicking away as well. Not everyone gets to enjoy the beauty of rugged Alaska and I have been cooped up inside for far too long.
