Ireland!: December 2006

http://amandainireland2.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Amanda's adventures in Ireland. Wednesday, December 20, 2006. The bus ride there was surprisingly unpleasant. First, the couple in front of us started going at it and they were gross. Then I decided it was a good idea to drink a lot of water during the first part of our journey. Which meant that during the second part of the journey I had to pee really bad. And I was hungry. So I was really thankful to get to Belfast. Our view. Yeah, it was bad. City Hall with a Christmas tree and the international market.

Ireland!: November 2006

http://amandainireland2.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html

Amanda's adventures in Ireland. Monday, November 27, 2006. They don't usually celebrate Thanksgiving in Ireland. Which quite the shame considering it's my favorite holiday. But I celebrated anyway, along with fourteen others on Thursday night. Then Friday Tony came to Dublin along with Jessica and Steve later that night. What a day! The city of Galway, all decorated for Christmas! Me, Steve and Jessica on the bus to the ferry that went to the Aran Islands. Steve, Jessica, and Tony sleeping on the ferry.

Ireland!: September 2006

http://amandainireland2.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html

Amanda's adventures in Ireland. Saturday, September 23, 2006. Everything in Ireland is cool. For some reason the people at the Quinn School of Business treat American students better than all the other international students. I'm not sure why, but I'm not complaining. So that means that the group of American students has trips to cool places planned for throughout the semester. Today was one of those trips. We started out at Croke Park:. I like the shorts they wear for the Gaelic games. After that we wen...

Ireland!: London bridge is falling down...

http://amandainireland2.blogspot.com/2006/11/london-bridge-is-falling-down.html

Amanda's adventures in Ireland. Wednesday, November 22, 2006. London bridge is falling down. This week we left early to maximize our time in England. We left around 4pm about half an hour after I packed. I barely remembered to bring underwear and socks, and definitly forgot to bring pajama bottoms (how embarassing! The flight was good, uneventful, which is saying a lot for Ryanair. We had to take a train to get into London and then took the Underground (mind the gap! Underwear. Enough about the hostel.

Ireland!: Tony in Ireland.

http://amandainireland2.blogspot.com/2006/12/tony-in-ireland.html

Amanda's adventures in Ireland. Friday, December 01, 2006. Tony came to Ireland the Friday after Thanksgiving. The poor kid didn't know he had to endure a whole day of travelling and then a whole day of walking around Dublin with me. Ha. Hey, check it out, Tony's in Ireland! So this is what I did with my brother. Ireland had suggestive advertising. Tony found where they keep the fifth ingredient to Guinness, Aurthur Guinness. Here's to drinking early in the day! Tony found this sign really amusing. The n...

The Life and Times of Amanda: March 2010

http://amandainminnesota.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

The Life and Times of Amanda. I am an explorer in Tennessee. Sometimes I will write about my discoveries here. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Living in TN - Musings. When I think Tennessee, I guess, when I thought. When you go to a new place do you ever think that your first day there feels entirely different from how you see it after awhile? Because 25 mph is just too fast. I enjoy seeing the livestock. Some of the soil here is red, which really throw me for a loop sometimes. We live kind of by a little...

Written Tuesday, June 6th. Today I had my last meeting with the food security steering committee, made up of elected community members to steer the food security strategy. The dynamica, or ice breaker, to get them into the participatory monitoring and evaluation training is the tea making dynamica. These kinds o...

Friday, me and Maria passed our CSN-exams with good results! I passed the oral exam for level B1, wich is one level higher than my class, A2! The subject we had to talk about was if using television in educational purpose is good or bad. In french! We haven't yet got the results from the written exam but I hope (and think! It went well. We had 40 minutes to write a page about our thoughts about permanent or semi-permanent make-up. I don't even have an opinion. Can't all of you come over here instead?

Amanda's Haiti Experience

Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Haiti Mission Trip Recap - The Last Day. Finally finishing up my way-too-lengthy recap of my mission trip experience in Haiti in July 2010. Sunday, July 18, 2010. I'm going home today! Excited, but exhausted. I slept hard on the Ambien from 8pm-5am (eastern). Woke up with soft, clean skin! My intestines are pretty rumbly but so far. nothing. I am persistently thirsty. I had about a 5 minute wait for the shuttle to the airport and realized, "Hey! But almost as immediately that w...
